Picks of the week 10/5!

Boy what a week it was! lost of good stories this week. It was hard to narrow it down to only one or two but I must! This week was a mix of new books, setting up for future events, and reactions to the current events happening in the comic universe. There may be spoilers written into the descriptions. Just as a warning.

Jessica Jones #1

Jessica Jones #1 did not disappoint for me this week. Brian Michael Bendis is one of my favorite writers currently (I may get flack from this) and he does a great job a throwing old school Jessica into the current continuum.  Jessica starts out in jail and we learn that things between her in Luke are not good. This means she is out of money and opens up her old detective agency in order to get some income. But her first client seems crazy and she is having a hard time avoiding all her old super friends who have a lot of questions for poor self destructing Jessica.

Invincible Iron Man #14

The second comic this week is the telling of one side of the Civil War 2 event. Its Captain Marvel vs Iron Man in this moral and emotional throw down. But this tension has started to take its toll on Tony Stark. Invincible Iron Man #14 covers Tony's internal struggle with everything that happened and his alcoholism. With the guilt and stress of loosing his best friend has taken its toll and the best way to describe this issue is the line "I need a meeting". This issue is the last Invincible Iron Man issue with Tony as the lead character for a while and it involved his worst demon. In a twist of fate Carol ends up at the same meeting and they seem to make piece with each other despite being on opposite sides and beliefs.  It was a really touching issue and it makes me wonder what they have in store for good old Tony Stark.

What were your favorites this week? Did anyone else pick up these books? What did you think of them? Comment below!
