So after working on this outlet for about a month I am slowly going to make some changes that I think will improve my processes. Starting this post I will be including my picks of the previous weeks comics with the pull list for comics coming this week. My streaming schedule is also going to change a bit with Amy starting a new position. But I have no plans on giving up or ending my creative outlet. so without further adieu my picks from last week! Keep in mind they picks from last week may contain spoilers!
OK allow me to rant a little before I reveal my favorites. Marvel cannot seem to end an event on time. I love them as a company but we are on the tail end of Civil War 2 and they have said changes will happen with the aftermath. But we are currently in this limbo in a lot of there books kind of just waiting till the event ends to start new story lines while moving forward with changes that haven't been revealed.
That being said the first title this week is Deadpool #20 by Gerry Duggan and Matteo Lolli. In this issue we find everything Deadpool as enjoyed this past year has gone. He is no longer on a team, his Mercs for Money are no more, and his building was destroyed by Ultron. This has put him in a very sad position. The issue is about him trying to convince a girl not to commit suicide. He shows her how he has still been helping people in his own way. In the end we discover that he is "rounding a corner" and getting back to being himself once again. I know it sounds sappy but I do love a character story showing how they cope with sadness and find ways to move on from it.
The other issue for this weeks pick was a new one I was not sure I was going to like but have recommended it to all my friends. Mosaic #1 by Geoffrey Thorne and Khary Randolph was more then I expected it to be. The story didn't really start for me till Morris underwent his transformation. He has the ability to jump from one person to another and take control of them but in the process takes a piece of each person with him. There was a constant battle for him to remember that he was a different person then his host. Much of the story was him learning how his new life operates and how to separate himself from the person he inhabits.
Pull List for week 9/19!
All-New X-Men #14
Civil War 2: Kindpin #4
Deadpool: Back in Black #2
Death of X #2
Green Lanterns #9
Harley Quinn #6
Infamous Iron Man #1
Raven #2
Mighty Thor #12
Not many new titles this week. Lost of new story-lines tho! This week starts The Infamous Iron Man. Written by Brian Michael Bendis with Alex Maleev we find that something has happened to Tony Stark and for some reason he is no longer Iron Man. Who best to fill those repulser boots and metal mask? Why Doctor Doom of course! Doom is trying to be a hero for a change but is that really what he wants? Or does he secretly have other plans?
Plus with Civil War 2 at the height of its event, one mob boss has managed to stay under the radar and continue operations without the precog knowing! In Civil War 2: KingPin #4 by Matthew Rosenberg and Ricardo Lopez Ortiz The KingPin has been back but his ace up his sleeve has betrayed him! Now the Punisher has come knocking and King Pin has to try and find his betrayer with dealing with this complication.
So that whats happening this week! What did you enjoy reading last week? Do you agree with my choices? What are you looking forward to this week? Comment below!

Amy and I have been on this ride
for a loooong time. Like all rides we have had our ups and downs. But what's
important is that we continue to be on the same ride together. We've had many
adventures together in our nine years of marriage (and even before that
really). Stuff I would have NEVER gotten to do without her. So to pay tribute
to my wife and our time together on this day, our anniversary, I figured I'd
reminisce about some of our greatest adventures and achievements.
The best place to start is the
day we started this crazy journey together as a team. We got married on a
beautiful day on this day in 2007. Our wedding was wonderful. All our family
and friends came out to see Amy look beautiful and me to make a fool of myself
(I didn't write my vows, something I will always regret). But it will always be
one of the best days of my life.
The day after our wedding
started our first adventure as a married couple. Our honeymoon was a couple of
days in Las Vegas and it was awesome! We walked the strip and visited all the
big casinos. It was so much fun! We also check out a couple of shows and got to
eat and several awesome restaurants! Our time went by so quickly. It's
definitely a trip I think we'd both like to take again eventually.
We love to go on adventures as a
family. Because of Amy I have gotten to visit New York City more then I ever
would have without her. She has shown me what a great place it can be and
shared her love with the city with me. With her help we both have gotten to go
to New York Comic Con several times. We even cosplayed once as Bob and Linda
from Bob's Burgers! She truly is my Linda to her Bob.
We also have gotten to do some
site seeing as well. Visiting Central Park and several of the museums. I can't
wait to do them all again with Kitty when she gets older! But I always have fun
when the two of us are together. And she gives me strength to deal and suppress
my anxiety issues so I can enjoy our adventures!
Our adventures are not always so
fast paced. Sometimes it's nice to just escape for a while. Amy loves the sea.
It's another wonder of our word she has shown me. We have a spot down near
Mystic where we like to go and just sit on the beach and stare out at the
water. I've always referred to it as our spot. We just recently took Kitty
there for the first time a couple weeks ago. I hope to get to bring them both
there often as Kitty grows up.
But that's not the only ocean
beach trip we have done! While Kitty was baking in the oven we went for a week
at Cape Cod. It was such an amazing week. We visited the National Sea Shore and
mini golfed and so many other fun things! It's a trip I'd like to bring Kitty
on one day too!
But not all our adventures
involved traveling. We have supported each other in our lives too. Amy is such
a strong motivated person and I know she can accomplish anything she puts her
mind too. I have gotten to witness her at her greatest moments. Achieving
things she thought she could never do and pushing herself. I am grateful that
she is now giving me that same opportunity and I could not be more grateful for
it.
Finally Amy has given me the
best gift of all and will be our greatest adventure, our beautiful daughter
Kitty. The second best day of my life was the day she was born. Amy is not only
the best wife, but a wonderful mom. Our little girl has changed too much in the
past year and loves her momma like nothing else. I know the feeling is mutual!
So this year I couldn't get her
a card. Money is tight and I couldn't buy her a gift. Not even flowers were an
option. But what I can do is this. Write this tribute and post it for the world
to see. 9 years of wonder adventures and I'm sure we can double or triple that
number. I love you Amy!
Boy what a week it was! lost of good stories this week. It was hard to narrow it down to only one or two but I must! This week was a mix of new books, setting up for future events, and reactions to the current events happening in the comic universe. There may be spoilers written into the descriptions. Just as a warning.
Jessica Jones #1 did not disappoint for me this week. Brian Michael Bendis is one of my favorite writers currently (I may get flack from this) and he does a great job a throwing old school Jessica into the current continuum. Jessica starts out in jail and we learn that things between her in Luke are not good. This means she is out of money and opens up her old detective agency in order to get some income. But her first client seems crazy and she is having a hard time avoiding all her old super friends who have a lot of questions for poor self destructing Jessica.
The second comic this week is the telling of one side of the Civil War 2 event. Its Captain Marvel vs Iron Man in this moral and emotional throw down. But this tension has started to take its toll on Tony Stark. Invincible Iron Man #14 covers Tony's internal struggle with everything that happened and his alcoholism. With the guilt and stress of loosing his best friend has taken its toll and the best way to describe this issue is the line "I need a meeting". This issue is the last Invincible Iron Man issue with Tony as the lead character for a while and it involved his worst demon. In a twist of fate Carol ends up at the same meeting and they seem to make piece with each other despite being on opposite sides and beliefs. It was a really touching issue and it makes me wonder what they have in store for good old Tony Stark.
What were your favorites this week? Did anyone else pick up these books? What did you think of them? Comment below!

Hello again everyone! It’s another new week and another
batch of new comics! As I said last week October is when Marvel releases its
new series. It’s a very Marvel heavy week this week that includes several new
titles added to the list for me to try out. Cross over stories continue for
Civil War 2 plus we get the return of the most unappreciated Avengers team ever
created!
Civil War 2: Ulysses #3
Deadpool # 20
Mosaic # 1
Old Man Logan #12
Power Man and Iron Fist #9
Suicide Squad #4
The Great Lakes Avengers #1
Uncanny Avengers #15
Mosaic #1 is a new series about a new Inhuman whose powers
cause him to lose his physical body. Writer Geoffrey Thorne and artist Khary
Randolph takes readers on a journey with the new character as he uses his new
powers in order so survive but it could cost him everything he has left. The art of this book looks fantastic. I
am not sure about the story and how it will play out but it intrigued me enough
to give it a shot.
I am so excited for The Great Lake Avengers #1! A team of
heroes was created in the midwestern area of America and they decided to name
themselves Avengers. Originally they were not affiliated with the other
Avengers teams and are often considered a joke team. But any title that creates
Squirrel Girl needed to come back eventually right?!? In this new series the
team is brought into the Avengers family once again and are moved to Detroit to
help keep the piece and become legendary heroes!
What books are you getting this week? Have you heard about the Great Lakes Avengers? Are you reading anything new this October? Comment below!

Well now, THIS episode leaves quite a lot of head
scratching and questions, burning questions, and the way that they are bouncing
around my skull, well, feels like my head is on fire. Well, I certainly hope
that the answers come with a vengeance, because I’m having a devil of a time
trying to figure them all out.
OK OK fine, that’s enough Ghost Rider puns, let’s
get on with the review! For those just joining and checking out this blog for
the first time, welcome to Fresh From Thresh, I am Matt Thresher, aka Matty
Thresh. And for those who are returning, then, welcome back! Today we are
continuing on our journey across the S.H.I.E.L.D. corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). As always,
I want to issue a SPOILER ALERT, as I will be discussing key plot points throughout. So if you haven’t
watched it, first off, why not? Second, go watch it and feel free to join in
any discussion in the comments! So,
this episode I feel like I can bring in some of the other topics explored
during the previous episode, such as the identity of the new director and what
the heck is going on with those ghost…spirit…things. Can’t really tell you too
much about what they actually are yet, but we can discuss them a bit!
First,
we finally get to meet the new director. I gotta tell you, I was SURE it was
gonna be Talbot if it was gonna be anyone we’ d known before. Turns out, it is
not Talbot though, it’s a man named Jeffrey Mace. People who know Captain
America comics extremely well may recognize him as the Golden Age hero “The
Patriot”, who would also take up the Captain America mantle for a time. No idea
of any indication to have this idea in his backstory yet, but what IS confirmed
is that Mace is actually an Inhuman, with super strength and durability (from
what we’ve seen so far). The fact that the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D is an
Inhuman, and is planning to take the agency public again for the first time
since the events of The Winter Soldier, is a big deal in the political
environment in the MCU at large, what with fear of Inhumans being stoked by
groups by like The Watchdogs (sound familiar, X-Men fans?), and the continued
fallout of the Sokovia Accords. Seeing how S.H.I.E.L.D. will handle being
thrust back into the limelight affects this season, and maybe even the Avengers
movies, will certainly be something to keep track of this season!
Something is in the air, and Agent May has been
affected. We’ve seen a ghostly looking woman affecting members of a Chinese
gang, as well as May and in this episode, a father and son whom she accuses of
living in her house. In this episode, we see her at a lab, with some kind of boxes
where she releases several more ghostly people, all of whom seem initially
unaware of the passage of time or what really happened to all of them. We learn
that the first woman that we see seemed to be the leader of the project,
because of some mysterious book. Just like “The Director” in the first episode,
though, the pronoun game is alive and well, as all the “ghosts” seem angry at
someone, presumably the person who oversaw the full experiment/project, and
they never say this person’s name, always “him” or “he”. Minor frustration,
true, but a frustration nonetheless.
As
was stated before, May had been affected by this influence of the ghosts, and
started seeing threats all around her. Believing that everyone else had been
infected, she proceeds to finally attack all agents in front of her, including
Coulson, before being subdued by Mace. He promises Coulson that he will take
care of May and is on top of everything.
Quake, meanwhile, continues to pursue Robbie Reyes
after her previous fight with the Ghost Rider. Robbie doesn’t appreciate this
at all, and after confirming that he DID sell his soul (Daisy originally
believed him to be an Inhuman like her) they eventually get into a fight after
Quake mentions Robbie’s brother Gabe. This royally pisses Robbie off, and after
a fight, subdues Quake. While going through her possessions to find a reason to
justify killing her, Quake talks to him about the leads with the various gangs
she’s been tracking, and all signs pointing to a certain lab. With that, both
vigilantes head there, with Quake breaking free to do so.
It just so happens that Mack and Fitz are at this
lab, since they are investigating the “ghosts” and have tracked the machine
they had recovered to here. Mack and Fitz end up encountering one of the
ghosts, resulting in Mack getting locked in a chamber and Fitz about to be
possessed. Ghost Rider shows up however, and shows that he can touch these
spirits; he grabs the one attacking Fitz by the arm, and then proceeds to burn
him to nothing. Daisy rescues Mack and the three former teammates have a rather
touching scene as Mack pleads with Daisy to come back with them, and when she
refuses, Fitz shouts that she turned her back on them, due to the terrible
events of the previous year. Fitz goes on to say that they all have gone
through terrible things in the past, and never did any of the other of them go
rogue. Mack also is angry that she is working with a murdering vigilante like
Ghost Rider, but Daisy is adamant that this is what she has to be doing. So
Mack and Fitz return without her. So, more things to ponder and more cool Ghost Rider
imagery has shown that so far, this season is in no danger of slowing down. A
new Inhuman director ready to take the agency out of the shadows, mysterious
ghosts causing panic and paranoia in their victims, and Ghost Rider and Quake
continuing on their way to find out what the connection between Ghost Rider,
the Ghosts, and the gang wars really is, since Robbie seems to think there is
one. While I enjoy their chemistry and the uneasy truce that they seem to have, I can’t help but just be afraid for Daisy, and I just hope that she
remembers that if she continues playing with fire, she might be the one that
gets burned.
AHHH!!! I’M
SORRY!!!! I’M SORRY!!!! Thank you everyone for reading, I
am enjoying this so far and can’t wait to see the new episode! Keep posted on
Jerry’s page to look for my latest articles, including reviews of the D.C. TV
shows, starting with The Flash, an article discussing exactly what having Ghost
Rider in the MCU could mean for that universe, as well as, of course, any new
AOS episodes! As always, stay rockin, and keep your cool everyone!
No…no…I didn’t mean…it was just…a slip of the tounge…please…mercy…MERCY!!!
AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Last week was a busy week so I’m sorry this is a little off
schedule. Last weeks books were good. I unfortunately missed getting Saga #38
so I can’t say that is was all that I had hoped for or not. But there were a
couple of standout issues for me from last week that I can talk about. I must
warn that there may be spoilers ahead. I will try my best not to include
spoilers but just in case be warned.
Teen Titans: Rebirth #1 by Benjamin Percy with art by Marie
Javins was overall a good issue. The team had disbanded after some recent
events and the book starts its focus on them doing their own thing trying to
cope with that happened (I am not going into what happened since it would be a
spoiler). At the end of each story section we find someone is kidnapping each
of them. The writing does a good job creating a since of mystery on who is
doing this and it is reveled on the last page. A problem I personally had was
the reveal is almost spoiled (If you don’t want to be spoiled then stop reading
here since I probably will spoil it) by the cover of the issue. I plan on
continuing to read Teen Titans but I personally don’t feel that the major story
piece should be plastered on the cover.
The other comic that was pick of the week worthy was Captain
America: Steve Rogers #5 written by Nick Spencer and art by Javier Pina. This
is such a new take on Steve as a character. He currently is a secret Hydra
agent working to take down SHIELD from the inside out. But what the Red Skull
doesn’t know is that Steve has his own agenda for Hydra. This issue is a
crossover story with the current even Civil War 2, which finds Steve worried
about the new Inhuman blowing his plans and exposing him. We learn that events
that have occurred in the main story are not as they appear and that Steve may
have influenced those events to protect what he is trying to accomplish.
Also to catch up this week I am including my pull list for
this week 10/5!
October is always the beginning of a new status for the
Marvel universe and this October is no different. Titles will end and new ones
will start which is usually when I reassess my pull list for the shop. So we
will see many new names and number 1 issues on the list but they may not last.
I am kind of picky about not just story but artwork as well. If I don’t like
the art or find that art inside the book is confusing or hard to look at then I
will stop reading.
All-New Wolverine #13
Deadpool: Back in Black #1
Death of X #1
Green Lanterns #8
Harley Quinn #5
Invincible Iron Man #14
Jessica Jones #1
Uncanny X-Men #14
and Saga #38!
Death of X #1 written by Jeff Lemire and art by Charles
Soule is the lead in to the next big Marvel event. Something happened that put
the Mutants and Inhumans on a path of competition and hatred toward each other.
I hope to find out what happened to adult Cyclops and how he died along with
what will lead to each race to go into all out war with each other!
Jessica Jones hasn’t had her own regular series in almost
ten years. I personally think that after her successful Netflix series this new
run should have happened sooner. With Brian Michael Bendis writing I know it
will be good. I personally hope it has a Dick Tracy detective mystery type vibe
since she is know for running a detective agency.
What is everyone else reading this week? Are you excited for anything new coming out? Did you watch Jessica Jones on Netflix? Would you read her comic because you watched her show?

Well, I gotta say, I didn’t necessarily expect to
get to this point, making a review of this! However, here we are now, welcome
to season 4 of Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D! I am Matt Thresher, aka Matty Thresh, and I hope you will all continue on this
journey with me this season!
Season 4 is here, that’s right,
yes, “Agents” has lasted this long. I have watched this show since the first
season, and it was very cool to see Agent Coulson’s team again. Coulson, Mack,
Fitz, Simmons, Daisy, May, etc. The losses from previous seasons are felt,
however, by the team as a whole and as by the individual members. However,
there is a new change in the status quo, and this left us with some interesting
scenarios and with many questions. As
was teased at the end of season 3, Coulson is no longer the director of
S.H.I.E.L.D. In this episode, we do not learn who this director is, he is never
referred to by name, but seems to be the subject of great criticism and
distrust by the team. In fact, this new director has split up Coulson’s team,
with each of them moving to heads of certain departments, and Simmons actually
becoming a direct advisor. There
are a few performances that I feel need extra recognition. All of the cast
members play their roles extremely well, it’s true, but these performances
stand out, and perhaps that’s because of the arc that we’ve seen the characters
going through to get here. Leo Fitz has come such a long way, and has had to
endure so much heartbreak and suffering. True, he’s not alone in this, not on
this team, but having met Fitz as a timid, highly intelligent, and naïve agent
who had never gone into the field and now seeing this confident and (frankly) bad-ass agent we’ve seen him become throughout past seasons, it’s really
rewarding to see Fitz as he is now. The
same can be said about Agent Simmons. She is now in a position of power in the
new director’s power structure, and she does very well. Because of the mistrust
that the rest of the team has for the new director, some of that mistrust,
especially from May, gets directed back at her, and you can’t help but feel for
her when she finally explains to May: She sees the writing on the wall, and in
order to have some level of control over things, she has been doing what she
can to gain power and influence and gain the mystery director’s trust. As a
viewer, it’s very hard NOT to appreciate the tough position Simmons is
currently in, and you can really feel her hurt and frustration with the rest of
the team’s attitude towards her, again, especially May.
Daisy
Johnson has left S.H.I.E.L.D., and is now a wanted vigilante that the world
knows as Quake (yay, comic reference!), and Coulson and Mack are desperate to
find her before the military does. Quake, however, has no desire to let this
happen; she is obviously still reeling from Lincoln’s death and she has made
her decision that she doesn’t want anyone else being hurt or killed for her.
Her goal now has been hunting The Watchdogs, and it is following up on leads
that result in her meeting with a new character that is ALSO hunting hate
groups…out for vengeance (but more on that later). Aside from all this though,
it is shown that Daisy is having trouble with her bones as a result of pushing
her powers too much. Yo-yo, the “InHuman asset” from last season, has been providing
her with Intel and pills to help with the pain. Daisy is going to be
interesting to watch this season, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing
what else she will get into. Ok,
well, I guess it’s time that I talk about what we’ve all been looking forward
to since we saw the comic con teaser…the dude with a flaming skull. The Ghost
Rider.When I first learned of
this happening, I was of two minds about it. Firstly, I was really pleased that
Ghost Rider was back in Marvel’s hands, and that Nicolas Cage was NOT involved
(sorry, but I really wasn’t a fan of those movies). I was a little shocked to
see that he would be in THIS show however, and not in a Netflix Marvel show,
perhaps meeting with The Punisher or something. Also, upon learning that this
Ghost Rider was NOT going to be Johnny Blaze or Danny Ketch, but Robbie Reyes,
Marvel’s “All-New Ghost Rider”, who made his debut in 2013. I haven’t been
reading this comic, and so know very little about this Rider, except for what I
have looked up, and from what I have learned, I’m very interested in seeing if
they pursue this route for a backstory. For example, in the comic, the spirit
possessing Reyes is NOT actually a Spirit Of Vengeance (typically the type of
spirit that becomes a Ghost Rider), but is his estranged uncle, Eli Morrow, who
was a Satanic serial killer. Whether or not the show will have this stay, or if
they will kind of merge origins with other Ghost Riders, will be interesting.
Also, are there OTHER Ghost Riders? Hmm, I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Besides the backstory things, and my
initial reservations and expectations of the character, I really want to
discuss the execution that went through.
My
initial judgement upon seeing this character is…WOW. Wow. Again, without
knowing much about Robbie, really, I was very impressed and very intrigued.
From the opening, where we first see Ghost Rider’s car (not a motorcycle,
remember), the Aryan Brotherhood members being pursued are obviously terrified.
Having Quake seeing him from behind a wall of flame, not able to see clearly
but seeing a figure with the flaming skull (HELL YEA!) walking among the
fallen gangsters, capturing and throwing one in the trunk of his car, and
brutally killing the others, built up the monstrous effect of this character.
True, yes, this is overplayed in any kind of monster movie or show, yes, but
this is GHOST RIDER, a character many of us wanted to see in the MCU for a long
time, and it worked. The impact that the Rider has in the world of the show is
incredible. Seeing as this is the season premiere, we don’t know much about
him, but he obviously is known and has been for some time. Anyone who Quake
questions about him, or even that Robbie is interrogating, knows of The Rider
and fears his power. A huge point to me is when Robbie is shaking down the
captured gang member, and he refuses to give Robbie the location, Robbie
responds with “If you don’t tell me, you’ll have to tell HIM”, and all defiance
fades from the man’s face, replaced with stark and utter horror and terror. Robbie
Reyes is portrayed very well, too. He comes off as harmless and in the
background I he needs to, but he can also be a commanding, scary interrogator
as well. The scariest part of his intimidation persona is the fact that he
DOESN’T need to be over the top scary, because he knows that he has someone
MUCH scarier in reserve, and the people he’s interrogating know this too. The
actual transformation into Ghost Rider is really well done too, and I had to
remind myself while watching “DUDE, this is AGENTS OF SHIELD I’m watching right
now!” CG on the car in flames as well as his skull on fire was really awesome,
and honestly, hard to tell only one episode in, but I think I definitely
preferred it to the movie versions.
The
fight between Quake and Ghost Rider may have been quick, but it showed some
real growth and potential in the show, as well as an awareness of the show-runners of what they can do now, especially with a new, later, time slot.
This episode is NOT afraid to get dark, especially not with Ghost Rider’s
executions of the guilty. The best dialogue is between Quake and Reyes, when
she is questioning him about the people he’s killed, whohe claims deserve it. “It’s vengeance,
chica” he says. Quake then angrily asks him about the not so obvious targets:A detective (“He had blood on his
hands” Reyes responds with a dark grin), a school teacher (“ A pedophile” Reyes
snarls back). Quake claims that he doesn’t get to decide who deserves to die,
to which Reyes responds, with glowing eyes, “I’m not the one who decides”…and
then his skin melts, lips peel back, hair burns off…and we see the Ghost
Rider’s face for the first time. All of this, of course, reminds us of another
Marvel show, “Daredevil”, and the moral debate between Matt Murdock and Frank
Castle, aka The Punisher. The fact that Agents Of Shield isn’t afraid to go
this dark, and harkens back to this other great show with other great
characters shows great awareness by Marvel for what their audiences like, at
least in their t.v. properties.
There
are several other sub-plots going on that are worth mentioning, such as Dr.
Radcliffe’s ongoing work on Life Model Decoys, with Aida (which honestly
creeped me out a bit), and this weird spiritual/ghost thing that May and the
other teams encountered attacking a Chinatown gang. But as there’s really not
much substance or much we know about those yet, these I feel inclined to
discuss at a later episode. The main attraction of this show now, is Ghost
Rider, and I’m really glad that Marvel took this leap to
bring him in, and this show has absolutely benefited in the later time slot,
and it kind of eases my anxiety about Ghost Rider NOT being in a Netflix show.
This season is off to a great start, and I can’t wait to see the new episodes,
and I hope to see you all along with me! Again, thanks to Jerry Rapone for the
invite to this blog, keep in touch, and also look for my reactions/recorded
reviews on my Youtube channel, and hope to see you on the next review!
My last broadcast was a semi success! I HAD A VIEWER! For a short time but still. This episode involved me exploring a planet I had just landed on. As I am learning through experimenting with streaming it is important to find something interesting to play. I am not sure that No Man's Sky is it. It also does not help that I cannot seem to get my microphone to work. Next time I plan on seeing how bad the camera mic is. At least you should be able to hear what I am saying. I feel bad because that person asked for help and despite the fact I was trying to talk to him, I apparently was not. So I am sorry to you person. I wanted to help but I could not. Also No Man's Sky is a single player game. I could have talked them through it but they could not have joined my game.
This
is a big trial week for me coming up this Wednesday! Several #1 issues from
DC's Rebirth mixed in with the Marvel batch could mean more additions to the
main list! But we shall see since I don't know too much about the DC characters
and have had issues in the past with DC since I tend to find the heroes a
little on the plain side (but that's just my opinion).

One
of the notables on my list this week is Batman Beyond Rebirth #1. This was one of my
favorite cartoons as a kid and I meant to pick it up during its last run. But
now is my chance to start it anew. With a new story-line starting I figured I
would give it a shot to see if I like it.
Deadpool #19 will hopefully address a weaved in story-line about the character in
the year 2099 and two different people running around as the Deadpool persona,
each with there own agenda trying to solve a mystery of what happened to Wade's
wife in this land of the future.
Finally
there is Saga #38. I didn't get started with the series till later but with the
help of a friend caught up and loved it! I am glad that it has returned to a
monthly release after a couple of months off. The writing it wonderful and as a
new father I feel a connection to the characters as they watch there daughter
grow up and thrive through there struggles with war and conflict.
I
don't ordinarily stray from my pull list too much but I had invested interest
in the story-line of this book for a couple of years. International Iron Man #7
finally answers the question, who are Tony Stark's real parents. It has been some
time since it was revealed that Tony was adopted and International Iron Man was
all about Tony's quest of discovery to find the truth. It ends up being a very
touching story with a reveal that was somewhat expected, yet satisfying and
gives Tony and even bigger link so SHIELD then anyone ever expected. I would
recommend picking up International Iron Man #6 as well since the reveal spans
both issues but you don't necessarily need to read both to understand the story
and the final ending.
My
other favorite title this week is also not on my pull list (I swear this
doesn't happen often). D.C. has been going through their big Rebirth so I have
been trying out the various new runs they have been putting out. Raven #1 was
very enjoyable. I'm not super familiar with the character outside of the first
Teen Titans cartoon. Her reactions to going to every day high school were great
with her “magic” coming into play in an unexpected way. Plus having an obvious
dark character move into a very bright Christian environment should yield a
good ongoing story as well. This will definitely be added to the pull list for
a while to see where the story takes me. Might end up a long-term title and has
inspired me to try the Teen Titans comic when it comes out next week.
For my fist streaming game I figured I would choose an Indie game to start. I am still figuring out how to stream and feeling my way through this new experience led me to consider a game that wasn't going to be super intense at first. Journey was originally released in 2012 and won several awards for its art style at the time. It has since been re-released for the newer consoles and is one of the free games this months for PS4 members. It is a gorgeous game tho I must admit I had a hard time following the story till I reached the end. Yup that's right I finished it. Come to find out its a short game, roughly 2 hours of playtime, granted I didn't try and find all the collectibles. So in a matter of just 2 streaming sessions I completed the game. I also realized that I haven't figured out my microphone yet. This means the wold has to wait to hear my fantastic voice and interesting things to say. Sorry world hopefully next time!

Now I need to figure out the next game to tackle. I enjoyed this Journey despite how short the game is. Have you played Journey? What are your thoughts? Any suggestions for my next game? Comment below!
